Erica was born and raised in New York State. Her parents got saved when she was seven, and a year later she gave her heart and her life to Christ. At a young age she felt a call to be a missionary, but she thought it was just “some crazy dream.” Erica loved the Lord and had various ministry opportunities as a teenager. Still, she went through a period of rebellion and thought the Lord could never use her again. The Lord, however, was not limited by her failures. His grace was sufficient to restore her life back to Him. She became actively involved in her church, helping out with the high school youth group and discipling teenage girls. She also went street witnessing frequently with a group of friends.
In 2005, God opened the door for Erica to go to Nairobi, Kenya on a short-term mission trip. Her heart was stirred as she heard about the atrocities going on in Northern Uganda. God once again opened a door for Erica in 2006, when she went on a month-long trip to Uganda. This was when God confirmed His calling upon her life for the mission field. He gave her a heart for the exploited children, destitute women, orphans, and all whose lives have been ravaged by sin and sickness. After this short trip, she took another longer trip, did training, and moved onto the field.
Erica realizes that her life is a testimony to God’s grace and power. He chooses the foolish things, the insignificant things, the broken things- to do His Will and to display His Glory. Erica’s desire is to be clay in the hands of the Great Potter, Jesus Christ. Her passion is to reach the hurting and the lost with the love of God, to bring glory to the One who has captured her heart and changed her life.
After living in Northern Uganda for about four years, God has given her a fresh vision to start “Africa4God”, and to continue to reach people in Northern Uganda and Southern Sudan with His great love.
