Church Plant

Body:

Church Plant- Pogee, Sudan

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Hosea 4:6a

There are many professing Christians in Northern Uganda and Southern Sudan, who know little to nothing of the God of the Bible or what being a Christian means. In January of 2008, Martin and I had the privilege of planting Calvary Chapel Kitgum together. Since that time CC Kitgum has thrived, it is now being pastored by a missionary and the Lord is doing a mighty work there. We praise Him that we got to be a small part of that work.

Agriculture and Income Assistance

Body:

We hope to empower widows and otherwise destitute women by teaching them a skill that will support their families. We will be researching options for a sustainable income generation project in which we can utilize natural resources and a local market to assist them.

Outreaches

Body:

We will conduct quarterly outreaches in various local communities to reach the unsaved adults and children. We will do this through preaching, visual aids, showing the “Jesus Film”, dramas,
and various other avenues. It is important for us to do these in areas where we will be able to conduct regular follow-ups and make sure the people are being discipled, so we will do this in connection with other churches and organizations when possible.

Prison Ministry

Body:

We hope to be able to go into the prison in Kitgum at least twice a month to teach men and women’s Bible studies to the inmates. This is a ministry we did in the past and found very successful.

Children's Ministry

Body:

Bible Studies, Children's Workers Training & Orphans and Disabled Ministry

Jesus says in Matt 19:14: “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Women's Literacy & Discipleship Training

Body:

There are several villages within Kitgum where we have started women’s Bible studies in the past. There are several women in each group who have expressed genuine interest in the things of God, have grown in their faith, and have a desire to share with others. Instead of continuing to travel to 3 or 4 villages on a weekly basis, our team will invite 2-3 women from each of these locations to meet at our base of operations. We will gather them all together for literacy training in their language and more in-depth Bible studies.
